On Tuesday, June 11 at 2 AM Janet (Jan) Bulman, beautiful and loving woman, wife and mother of four passed away peacefully at Burnaby Hospital. Her family was with her at the time.
Jan was born in Fernie, B.C. on February 24, 1930. She was married to Thomas (Tom) Bulman who pre-deceased her in 2006. She will be missed so very much by her children Kate, Nancy, Jenny and David - her eight grandchildren and little Jade her great-grandchild - her many nieces and nephews - and the many, many friends she made during her long and very active life.
Building community, and engaging in social action were always important to Jan, as was her constant mission to bring a woman’s perspective to the Christian experience. She was a person to be reckoned with, though you would not know that upon first meeting her. Jan also wove music into every aspect of her life and was known to spontaneously break into song. Her favorite hymns and folk songs are too numerous to list – though we will try. Her piano is being enjoyed on the 1st floor in the gathering room at the Royal Arch Masonic Home where she lived the last years of her life.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1 PM at Jubilee United Church, 7591 Gray Ave. Burnaby, B.C.
