John Little

John Little, born June 27th 1919 in Carlisle, England passed away peacefully August 5th 2016 in Surrey, B.C. Canada. John served with the Royal Engineers in France, Egypt and Turkey, 1939-1947. Returning to England, he married his beloved Mary on September 18th 1947 and soon emigrated to South Africa and then Vancouver, Canada in 1957. John worked for many years in property management and development for Laing Construction and as General Manager for Grosvenor Canada Limited. In later years he volunteered generously at Knox United Church, the Victorian Order of Nurses, Crofton House School and the Crane Library, UBC. Throughout his life, John brought great joy to others through his love of choral music.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years; three daughters, Linda (Peter), Maureen (Gordon) and Jane (Tom); 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service to be held at Knox United Church, where John and Mary have been members for 57 years; 5600 Balaclava Street, Vancouver on September 18th 2016 at 1pm on their 69th wedding anniversary.
