Mr. Kevin Hitoshi Morishita

Kevin Hitoshi Morishita, - passed away suddenly on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Saint Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Kevin, loving husband of Lori (Smollett) and caring father of Kiyoshi of Guelph, Ontario. Dear brother of Elmer, his wife Sofia and nephew Kenji of Vancouver and Wesley of Toronto. Affectionately remembered and missed by his numerous cousins in Ontario, British Columbia, the USA and Japan, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis and Olive Smollett, New Carlisle, Quebec, brother-in-law of Rick Smollett, wife Helen, nephews Andrew and Luke, Calgary, Alberta and sister-in-law Dawn Smollett, partner Dany and children Christian and Sarah, New Carlisle, Quebec. Predeceased by his parents, Kenichi and Chizuko Morishita.

Kevin worked as a family doctor in Guelph for over 25 years serving and attending to the needs of numerous patients. He is remembered for his way of communicating and working with young people and looking after their needs and concerns. He was a ferocious gardener and an avid reader. He travelled many miles on vacations but also in the role as a hockey parent. We wish to thank the staff in the ICU and the Cardiac Surgery ICU for all of their efforts to help Kevin. Funeral service will be held at the Steveston Buddhist Temple, 4360 Garry Street, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. Another service for Kevin will be held at a later date in Guelph, Ontario.
