After completing her education at William Booth Secondary School, Kuk Han Cheng pursued a career in private tutoring while simultaneously studying to become an accountant. Her commitment to both her professional and personal growth was evident as she worked diligently to achieve her goals.
During her second grade of elementary school was where she met her classmate and her future husband, Chi Fai Chan. The connection they shared blossomed into a romantic relationship around 1984, leading them to embark on a beautiful journey together. In 1987, Kuk Han Cheng and Chi Fai tied the knot, marking the beginning of their lifelong partnership.
They were blessed with the arrival of their first child, Samuel, in 1989, bringing immeasurable joy and fulfillment to their lives. Kuk Han Cheng embraced the role of motherhood with love and devotion, cherishing every precious moment spent with her growing family.
In pursuit of new opportunities and a better future for her loved ones, Kuk Han Cheng made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada in 1995. Utilizing her accounting skills, she began a new chapter in her career, establishing herself as a capable and dedicated professional in her adopted country.
In 1997, Kuk Han Cheng and Chi Fai welcomed their second child, Tony. After giving birth to her second child, Kuk Han Cheng made the decision to prioritize her role as a mother and chose to stay at home as a dedicated housewife. She lovingly took care of her family, attending to their every need. From cooking delicious meals and buying groceries to ensuring her children received a good education and caring for her own parents, she embraced her responsibilities wholeheartedly.
Alongside her family duties, Kuk Han Cheng found spiritual fulfillment through her attendance at the temple, where she sought peace and guidance. Her faith provided her with strength and resilience during challenging times.
As her children grew older and became more independent, Kuk Han Cheng found time to explore new hobbies and indulge in her passions. She discovered the joys of camping, traveling, and hiking, embracing the beauty of nature and creating cherished memories.
The arrival of grandchildren brought new joy and purpose to Kuk Han Cheng's life. She embraced her role as a grandmother with open arms, showering Samuel's children with love and care, creating a special bond that would last a lifetime.
On May 15, 2023, the world lost a remarkable soul as Kuk Han Cheng passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
