Lena Dorine Robbins

October 21, 1917 – May 6, 2025
Obituary of Lena Dorine Robbins
IN THE CARE OF

Hamilton Harron Funeral Home

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved matriarch, Lena Robbins, on May 6, 2025. She left us peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Her memory will always be cherished.

Lena was a woman of remarkable strength, warmth, and grace. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, gret-great grandmother she spent her life caring for others.

After retiring from Vancouver General Hospital, Lena enjoyed many active and happy years in Vancouver’s Killarney neighbourhood, known for her independence and community spirit. She proudly earned her driver’s licence in her fifties and remained energetic and engaged well into her later years, never losing her sense of humour or her love of a good true crime mystery. In her final chapter, she received excellent care at Holy Family Residence for which her family is grateful.

She was best known for her incredible baking and treasured family recipes, which brought comfort, celebration, and connection across generations. Lena built community through friendship and joyful gatherings—always encouraging fun, laughter, and a sense of occasion.

Her resilience was exceptional. A firm believer in staying active, her quiet commitment to daily movement was a testament to her strength and longevity.

She is survived by children, Norma, Mary and David, Joe and Carlene; her grandchildren and their partners: Lani and Steve, Renee, Shelley and James, Greg and Michelle, Kate and Ned, Sean and Sarah, Mike and Allison; her great-grandchildren: Vincent, Nicholas, Josh (Jenna), Rachel, Max, Liam, Jet, Charlotte, Willa, and Iver; and her great-great-grandchildren: Leo and Mason.”

Rest in peace, GG. You will always be loved, missed, and remembered.
