Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 28, 1964, Leslie headed to the West Coast in the 1980’s and spent the latter part of her life in Metro Vancouver, where she built her life and connections within that community.
Leslie had a sweet, free-spirited nature, beautiful smile and infectious laugh. In earlier years Leslie loved to travel (Japan and Thailand were her favorite). She was a nurturing sister, a bright light and a mischievous character. She deeply valued her freedom and lived life on her own terms with fierce determination and resourcefulness.. No matter her path in life, she carried a warmth and compassion that touched the lives of those around her.
She leaves to mourn her long-term partner Gord, her sons, Eric, Tristan, and Tyler; her sister, Tracy; and her stepfather, Richard. She will also be missed by extended family, friends, and members of the community whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert Boland (1988); and her mother, Carol Wayne (2008).
A small family gathering will be held to honor her life.
The family would like to thank those who have shared kind words, memories, and support during this difficult time.
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
