It is with great sadness that the family of Lewis (Eric) Freeman announce his peaceful passing on December 26th, 2021 at the age of 74. His strength and love for life and family shone through as he courageously managed his illness. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving family.
Eric is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl; his children, Mia, Jeremy, Trevor, and Stephanie; his siblings, Barbara and Lari; his six grandchildren; his childhood friend, Caisey; and other family members and friends.
Eric undeniably lived life to the fullest. He was active and always up for new adventures, with a passion for experiencing new things. If there were one word to describe Eric, it would be storyteller. He had a way of welcoming those he talked to and loved to share stories from his profoundly full and fascinating life. Anyone who knew him will undoubtedly recall an impassioned conversation with him about soccer, Oscar (his dog), world events, climate change, or the stock market. No matter the occasion, he had a thought-provoking story to share, and those of us lucky enough to have experienced his stories will cherish them for life.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at SPH ICU, Dr Melosky, Dr Trevor Hamilton, and a special thank you to Dr Duncan Miller.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please perform an act of kindness in memory of Eric.
