Surrounded by love of family and friends Lisa Crystal Nahanee passed away at North Shore Hospice on February 4, 2019. Lisa was born on December 1, 1983 to her parents Joanne Nahanee and Raymond Baum in North Vancouver. She was 35 years young. Lisa descends from the northern Tutchone First Nation of the Yukon Territories and Squamish Nation; her common-husband is from Cowichan Tribes. She descends from the Antone / Natrall & Baum / Silverfox and Nahanee families. Lisa grew up in North Vancouver on Mission IR No. 1, Ottawa, Ontario and Victoria, BC; she attended Westview Elementary School, Lansdowne Middle School and Sutherland Senior Secondary. Lisa proudly received her accreditation in aesthetics at Vogue College and managed her own salon. She also studied in the Criminal Justice Program at Native Education Centre. Lisa is most fondly remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, friendly loving kind nature and support of anyone.
Lisa is survived by her grandfather Tommy Joe; parents Joanne & Jason Nahanee; spouse Joseph Thorne; son Ryan Jr.; siblings Raymond (Noelle), Marie, Kim, Jessica (Gerald), Zalia (Tony) and Nathan (Kenzie); nieces & nephews Kaylayla, Kanim, Kiaya, Kah-Ty, Tae’aliya, Shanelle, Jonah, Joseph, Joaquin, Jayden, Chasity, Jaylen & Taylor; son’s father Ryan Williams and many loving relatives and dear friends.
A prayer service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019; and a Celebration of life at 10:00 am on February 8, 2019 all at Chief Joe Mathias Centre, 100 Capilano Road, North Vancouver, BC. Online condolences can be found at www.dignitymemorial.com.
