Mando Adamantia Christodoulou

Obituary of Mando Adamantia Christodoulou
Mando Adamantia Christodoulou, beloved wife of Christos Christodoulou, passed away holding her dear husband’s hand and surrounded by family on January 19th, 2023, at the age of 84. Mando was born on July 9th, 1938, to parents Dimitrios and Evangelia Antonakis in Piraeus, Greece. She immigrated to Ladysmith, Vancouver Island, in 1956, sponsored by her Uncle Petro Limberis. Mando met the love of her life, Christos, and together wrote a love story for the ages. They lovingly established the famous Mando's Restaurant and helped bring their siblings and parents to Canada. Their greatest accomplishment is their four daughters and their families: Vivian (Chris), Evelyn (Bill), Toula (Peter), Gina (Robert), their nine grandchildren and their five great-grandchildren, soon to be six. Anyone blessed with having made her acquaintance knew that Mando was a true lady (κυρία) in all senses of the word. Mando had a selfless love for the community and showed it through her support with the St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Philoptochos Society, the Hellenic Community of Vancouver, and the Daughters of Penelope. She was a pillar of the community who carried herself with grace and elegance while always demonstrating what it meant to be a true philanthropist. Mando is survived by her loving husband Christos of 63 years, their children and families, her sisters Christina Georgas and Niki Tsoukas, cousins, nieces, nephews, koumbari, and countless friends and neighbours whom Mando all adored deeply. The Trisagio prayer service will be held on Monday, February 6th, at 7:00 pm. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th, at 11:00 am. All services will be at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Philoptochos (Ladies Auxiliary) of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral are greatly appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Christodoulou family.
