I met Marcelle when she was appointed as a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board. I was immediately struck by her charm and her intelligence. She was always respectful and compassionate towards the refugee claimants that appeared before her and  her service and dedication to justice made Canada proud. Over the years she became a friend and I will miss her dearly. She was an inspiration!

Lianne Brisson and I did not know each other, however we shared a commitment in our work with International Social Service As president of ISS Canada and member of the Governing Board in Geneva we had obviously shared some common values, common concerns and interest in assuring that families in difficulty that involved cross-border issues had a means and support towards resolving their situation 
I wish to express my condolences to the family of Madame Brisson and to posthumously thank her for the time she devoted to this organization

It was so sad to learn Marcelle passed away. We met almost once a year in the past 18 years. She was such a KIND, GENTLE, WARM-HEARTED and BRILLIANT person. She will be always in our memory. My wife Rose, my son Richard join me in extending our deepest condolences to Marcelle's family.

It was my pleasure to know Marcelle and Bernard in Ottawa while they were university students and to see them thereafter in Ottawa following his medical practice in Northern Quebec.  Still later, I visited them in Anaheim.  I also knew Marcelle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Siegrist.  Both they and the Brisson family were all warm-hearted and out-going.  Marcelle contacted us again when she moved to Vancouver and when her daughter obtained a position with a Supreme Court judge in Ottawa.   Our last exchange of Christmas Greetings was in 2007.  But the memory lingers on of a friendly and very bright lady.   Margaret joins me in extending our most sincere condolences to her family.   Don Chutter

Sending warm thoughts and much support to the whole family. Marcelle was a wonderful role model to me when I was a young Social Worker starting g out in Ottawa. I think of her often and appreciate the work she did.
