Marian Edith O'Brien

May 3, 1933 – February 5, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Kim (Jamie), Cathryn (Derek), and Patricia (Scott), her son Robert, and her 7 ‘grands,’ Jack, Tom, Quinn, Megan, Kenna, Connor, and Griffin. Marian was predeceased by her sister Marjorie Middagh and will be remembered by her nieces Karen, Brenda, and Diane and their families whom she loved dearly.

Marian was born in Red Deer, Alberta, and married Bob O’Brien in 1967 raising her 4 children in Vancouver.

Marian was fiercely independent with a wicked sense of humour. She loved her family, playing bridge with her friends, jazz music, and dancing at the music clubs which brought her so much joy.

Some of her best times were with her nursing friends, the Saskatoon Nurses Alumnae, and catching up at the many reunions. They were like sisters to her.

At the end, she said her proudest accomplishment was her children.

Marian will be missed and we are grateful for the time we had with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 3rd, 2024 at 11 am at Shaughnessy Heights United Church followed by a reception.
