Marina's journey began in Vancouver and flourished in Maple Ridge, B.C. From an early age, her heart beat in rhythm with the arts, a passion she pursued through her academic years at Meadowridge School, Brentwood College, Oxbow School of Art, Neuchatel Junior College, and NYU. Following academics, Marina carved a niche in the art world, in Toronto and the Inuit Gallery in Vancouver with her talent and dedication.
She leaves behind her parents, Tanya Greeno and Ron McNeil (alongside his wife Karen), her cherished brothers: Wells (and wife Ivy), Donovan, and Hudson, her adored niece Zoe, and her grandmothers Rose Sanesh and Sandra McNeil along with the extended Greeno and McNeil family, all enveloped in the warmth of her memory.
Marina's spirit was an explorer, venturing eagerly into diverse cultures across the globe. Her laughter, laced with wit, and her contagious smile, endeared her to all fortunate enough to know her. Bonds forged with her were unbreakable, enduring testaments to her magnetic presence.
An avid reader, a connoisseur of poetry, a painter, a cyclist, a skier, a cook and a lover of music, even karaoke —Marina's passions were as varied as they were vibrant.
Her love for family was a constant, guiding her through every joyful reunion. Whether walking along the beach with her mother, whipping up culinary delights with her loved ones, or sharing tender moments with her brothers and beloved niece Zoe, Marina's affection knew no bounds. Her habit of expressing love, punctuated by her signature phrase "Hey Kid, I love you," echoed the depth of her affection for those closest to her.
In her passing, Marina reminds us that beneath the trappings of materialism lies the essence of our being—beautiful, complex, and wholly cherished. Though she may have slipped from our grasp, her memory remains etched in the very fabric of our souls, a testament to the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to share in her light."
