Stanley,
I want you to know how much your mom meant to me.  From 71 to 75 I was based in Dr. Finnegan's lab doing my Master's Degree sharing the space with Brian McLean. She was a wonderful lady and always kind to me and put me at ease in that heady environment.   When it came to writing my thesis she proofread almost every page of my ramblings.  By the time we were done my writing skills were considerably improved and they stood me well through my teaching career that followed.
My deepest condolences,  I will remember her always.

I am so sorry to hear that Maureen has passed, my sincerest sympathies to her son Stanley.  I worked for many years with Maureen at UBC and I considered her my mentor.  She was a strong, take no nonsense woman who was very proud of her indigenous roots.  The world is a poorer place without her presence.  I loved you Maureen, Rest In Peace.

Mo and I grew up in the small village of Chapman Camp, near the town of Kimberley.  We walked to school in sparkling subzero weather,we rode our bikes way past Bear Creek, we built rafts on Wasa Lake and saw the spires of the Rockies from the Catholic Church Hill.  After 83 years of friendship, how I shall miss you: your loyalty, generosity, elegance, compassion and intelligence.
To Stan and other family and friends I extend my deepest sympathy.   Rest in Eternal Peace My Dear Sister/Friend from Oop.
