With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Mei Fun Chan, who left us peacefully on August 16, 2025, at the age of 81. After a brave and tireless seven-year battle with multiple myeloma, she passed surrounded by the love of her family.
Mom was a true fighter. She faced each day of her illness with unshakable courage and quiet grace. Throughout seven years, she endured six different grueling chemotherapy treatments, yet she never gave up, never complained, and always kept smiling for those she loved. Cancer may have taken her body, but it never touched her spirit. Her strength in the face of unimaginable pain is a legacy we will carry with us forever.
She was the heart of our home and the soul of our family. A mother to Anna, Linna, Donna, and William, she raised us with fierce love, endless patience, and boundless generosity. She gave us everything she had—her time, her wisdom, her laughter, and her warmth. With deep love and open arms, she also welcomed Gary Lee into our family, embracing him not just as a son-in-law, but as a son.
For 30 years, she was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Chung Keung Chan, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life full of joy, sacrifice, and devotion. Their love was quiet but powerful—a bond that shaped our family and continues to guide us.
To her grandchildren, Nicholas and Aaron, she was affectionately known as “Loving Granny.” She adored them beyond words. Whether passing on cherished Chinese traditions or sneaking them sweet treats, she poured her whole heart into every moment with them.
Mom was known for her selflessness. She gave without ever asking for anything in return. Her warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her kitchen was always open, especially during Chinese New Year, when she lovingly prepared her famous zongzi and homemade treats—food that carried stories, love, and legacy.
Her absence leaves a quiet space in our lives, but her love fills every corner. Her spirit, her strength, and her kindness will continue to live on through all of us.
Mommy / Grandma you will always be in our hearts. Your love is forever woven into who we are.
