Mei is survived by her four children, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, three grandchildren, three grandchildren-in-law, and two great grandchildren. She grew up in Kaiping, Guangdong, China and worked and lived there until the entire family immigrated to Canada in 1980.
In China, she worked as an accountant, achieving the role of the Chief Accountant for the region. In Canada, she took on different jobs to support the family.
She is famous for her homemade joongs and dim sum delicacies. She enjoyed tending to her garden and socializing with her friends. One of her favourite pastimes was singing. We could see how happy it made her and how proud she was being a member of the singing group.
Our mom was a strong person. She never gave up but there was also a gentle side to her, especially when it came to the four of us. She was always happy and optimistic. We are comforted in knowing that she lived to the ripe old age of 94.
