I recently uncovered a memory of my first swimming lesson. It was with my Aunt while we were on a cruise ship back when i was in preschool. She told me to kick the water down to stay up. When i wiped water off my face, i used to brush it up and it would just drip into back in my eyes. She patiently told me to push the water down and away. I had no problem wiping my face after that. It seems so cliché that it takes a death for someone to realize what they have lost. But in my case, my Aunt taught me what i still have. For more than a few years now, i have been taking my family for granted. I can tell you now that i have learned how fragile life is because of her. I think i speak for all my cousins when i say that our parents are not getting any younger we still have more family around us to cherish and we need to start taking advantage of all the opportunities we have to love and take care of one another. While we were in the hospital, every negative thought went through my mind. The one thing that i focused on to get through it, was the fact that this was the closest our family had been in a long time. I believe Aunt Momo’ passing that night is a sign that she wants us to grow closer and be there for each other. Let’s hang on to that, and continue life appreciating everyone we have with of us - together as a family.

Its one thing to hear about the death of a relative, but something changes inside you when you wake up to a normal morning, and then literally watch your Aunt die by the end of the night. My Aunt Momo was the definition of happy go lucky. She was fashionable, made nifty crafts, had perfectly timed jokes, and spread joy to those around her with her spicy flare. She was also the ultimate supporter. If you laughed, she would laugh with you, and if you were mad at someone, god help them, she would have some strong words to share of her own. Aunt Momo was perfectly content with who she was. During family gatherings, if she wasn’t cooking she would sit in the corner, and happily listen to everyone's conversations, nodding along without a care in the world. If you were lucky like my mom, she would come over and give you some tips on cooking. When I was young, Aunt Momo used to help look after me when my parents worked. She fed me her delicious cooking, the best, and she cleaned me when i took a messy poop. Most importantly, she kept me honest with a plastic duster to the bum when i lied, cheated, or stole. She was another mom to me. 

Kit yee ma was like a mom to me. For the past 21 years of my life, she had always been there to care for me. Life will never be the same without her being there for me. I will forever remember her and cherish the moments that I had with her. 我爱你,傑姨妈.

I have worked with Momo for ten years and we are devasted to hear of her passing. She was with the hotel for 35 years and one of our best employees. She can never be replaced. Momo was like a sister to may long term staff. It has been so hard to see the pain in their eyes. Our hearts are with the family during this time.

Heart broken, lost, disbelief, sorrow, sadness, pain, agony. We can’t find a single word to express our feelings . A piece of our family is lost forever. Her memories will be in our hearts for eternity.  We miss her so much. We were the luckiest family in the world to have Momo as our sister. She was truly a gift us. She was like a mother to Wai loon. We felt her love when she was with us and we still feel her love now. 

Although Momo is my younger sister, I always called her Kit Ga Jei (older sister), only because I learnt so much from her, she showed me ways to cook, ways to nourish, and even ways to dress just to hide my fat body part!
Thank you for being such a funky sister, Kit Ga Jei, you will Always Always be in my heart and in my mind! 

I’m so grateful to have had such a wonderful aunt in my life. She was always there to look after me when I was a wee tot. I’m going to miss so many things about her like her fantastic cooking, the way she laughs when she cracks a joke, how unique and stylish she’s always been, the crafts she creates that never cease to amaze me, the funny bantering that happens at family gatherings between her and her sisters, but most of all, I’m going to miss simply being around her. 

Thank you for everything over the years, Aunt Momo. You’ll always be in my heart. 

I love you and miss you so much, Momo. Thank you for being a great sister. 

My Aunt was always so much fun to be around. From trying to teach me how to swim to having me sit in her lap pretending to drive her Chevette. She loved to keep things casual with all her nephews and nieces even though she was an Aunt. I’m very lucky to have her around throughout my whole life. So many good times. She was a part of my childhood, always teaching with a soft hand. I love her, I’ll miss her. We’re all very lucky she was a part of our lives. She’s with my Grandma now, watching over us. She’s gone but will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace  Kit-yee. 

I am very lucky to have Momo as my sister-in-law, “Thank you Momo for letting  me  into your life” I missed you very very much. You may be gone from my life but you will be in my heart forever.

I am so saddened to hear about Momo and send all my love to Jojo and families.   Always a smile at work (Renaissance) when I was there and so much fun each day.   Big hugs as well to the banquet team at the hotel who are going to miss her greatly.
