He was born November 15, 1946 in the tiny village of Loukoudi, Thessaly, Greece nestled near Mt. Olympus. He was the first born to Evangelos and Eleni Peristeris and will be greatly missed by his family and patriots of his village. He is survived by his loving girlfriend Tina Tucken, his sister Maria Ganatsios of Loukoudi, along with his surviving children Helen Peristeris (Adrian), Michael Peristeris (Mary), and Nicole Batten; four grand children, Anthony and Dennis Babich, Athan Peristeris, and Sakura Batten.
In the early 1970’s, Nick the Greek, as he was best known as, arrived in Vancouver. Often you would find Nick wondering the streets of 4th Ave or Broadway greeting everyone and anyone he met. He was a free spirit and notorious for his larger than life personality, wild sense of humour, and his movie star looks. All throughout his years, Nick’s worked as an automotive mechanic fixing vehicles of many friends in the heart of Kitsilano. Apart from working, Nick loved hanging around Jericho beach and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends too. He was a doting grandfather and will not be forgotten by them. Nick always made time for his grandchildren and I know in their hearts they will greatly miss their dear, caring “Papou.” Rest in peace dad, and I hope you have reached the heavens above to be with your dear parents and God.
