KARASOULIS, PanagiotisJuly 4, 1920 - October 8, 2014Born in Chios, Greece, our loving father and grandpa lived a long and rich life until his heart stopped suddenly at his daughter's home in Vancouver, where he had been living since 2009. Predeceased by his beloved wife Poppy, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sophia Karasouli-Milobar, son-in-law David Milobar, grandson Peter (Panagiotis) and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The highlight of his 94 years of life was his service during the Second World War, first as a soldier in the Greek army and then as a wireless operator working undercover in Greece for the British SOE. Among other war medals, Panos was awarded The King's Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom as well as the Greek War Cross (third class.) Later in life, he wrote a memoir of those war years, and was a proud and very involved member of the Chios Veterans' Association.
