Paraskevi (Vivie) Vlachos was born in Patras, Greece, to Efstathios and Vasiliki Kravariotis. She was their youngest child, having two older brothers, Spyro and Niko. Vivie’s childhood and young adult life was spent in her hometown of Patra, surrounded by family and friends, loving life, and creating amazing memories and lifelong friendships. But things changed drastically for Vivie after the passing of her father. So in 1965, Vivie travelled to Vancouver with her mom to meet up with her brother Nick and help make a better life for themselves.
It is in Vancouver that she met the love of her life, Tassos. They were married in 1967 and had two daughters, Nandia (Chris) and Effie (Siamak).
Together, they surrounded themselves and their daughters with family and friends, living life to the fullest. Vivie was avidly involved in the Greek community and especially the church. In her early years, she taught Sunday School and was involved in the Paidiko Sylogo where she met and made friends that were by her side until her final days.
Vivie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her two daughters and embraced every moment with them. She instilled in her daughters strong values that have served them well. She especially loved her role as yiayia to her four grandchildren, Anastas, Paris, Valentino and Constantino. She had a vivacious personality and always had a kind word for those around her. She made friends everywhere she went and left an impression on all those she met in her life. Vivie loved to love on people. But life just wasn’t the same for her after the passing of Taso in November 2018. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
