Pietro Negri was born on December 29, 1929, in Morfasso, Piacenza, Italy the son of Giacomo Negri and Dominica Bellini. He grew up in Italy where he completed his schooling and became a skilled shoemaker.
In the early 1950's, at approximately 21 years of age, Pietro immigrated to Canada. He lived briefly in Montreal before settling in Vancouver, which would become his lifelong home. Pietro spent his working career with BC Hydro, working in construction on tunnels and dams, and retired in 1991.
In 1972 he married Rachle, and together they shared a loving marriage of 54 years filled with fun and adventure.
Pietro is remembered for his friendly nature and for always being a true gentleman.
Pietro enjoyed a long and healthy retirement and passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, twelve days before his 96th birthday.
A funeral service will be held at Corpus Christi Parish, located at 6350 Nanaimo St, Vancouver, BC, V5P 4K7, Canada. The service is scheduled for January 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
