Rajpati Lakhan

She married at a very young age and lived in Ba for a number of years. She moved to Nadi with her 6 children when her husband the late Mr. Ram Lakhan was appointed as Post Master in Nadi. The seventh Child Kusum was born in Nadi.

Nadi was the home for the Lakhan Family until they moved to Australia in mid 70s. After the death of her husband in 1990 she moved to Brisbane to live with daughter Prema and son-in-law Ram Karan.

Mrs. Lakhan moved to Canada in 2017 to live with her two daughters Kamlesh and Kusum in Vancouver.

Mrs. Lakhan died peacefully on 14th January, 2026 (a very significant day in the Hindu Calendar) leaving behind daughters Kusum, Kamlesh of Vancouver; Prem Karan and son-in-law Ram Karan of Brisbane Australia; son Navin and daughter-in-law Kiran of Canberra Australia; daughter-in-law Nirmala (wife of late son Binod Lakhan) of Brisbane, son Vidhya Lakhan and daughter-in-law Asha of Suva Fiji. Grand Children; Shalini, Vinesh, Geeta, Rakesh, Prasheela, Shareen, Natasha and Nitara. Great grandchildren; Storm, Nikhil, Haina and Eashan.

A funeral service will be held at Vancouver Memorial Services and Crematorium, located at 5505 Fraser Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, on January 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The service will be available via live stream at https://www.legacystreaming.com/dignity-vancouver/.

Following the service, a witness cremation will take place.

A reception will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home in the Reception Room, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm following the witness cremation.
