Richard Loo

April 5, 1937 – August 1, 2025
Obituary of Richard Loo
IN THE CARE OF

Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral Home

Rich will be forever missed by his loving wife of 62 years Genny (Genevieve), his children Kevin (Sandra), Vernon (Louise), and Carolyn (Richard). He adored and will always be remembered by his grandchildren Andrea, Evan, and Jessica.

Rich was born in Victoria BC, where he met Genny. Through the years they often marvelled at how lucky they were to have each other. He was a kind and thoughtful person with a good sense of humour. He was a person who would do anything for friends and loved ones, and especially took delight in being with his grandchildren.

Rich had a small sign painting business. He started out lettering by hand, then eventually switched to vinyl lettering. He did all different kinds of signs, decals, and banners for windows, vehicles, keepsakes, etc. He made a variety of mugs which people treasure to this day. For many years, he lettered the ribbons for Remembrance Day wreaths.

He learned sign language through working at TB Vets with hearing impaired people.

Rich was an avid bowler; he was so proud of his 297 game. He loved playing golf at Redwoods Golf Course in Langley.

He and Genny were world travellers, alternating between Europe and Asia, then to South Africa and countless other destinations. His love of photography produced some excellent pictures of his many trips.

Rich passed away peacefully at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital. His family is grateful to the nurses, care aides, and staff of 1 South, who gave compassionate care of Rich in his final days. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
