Richard Shorty

Richard Shorty was born on September 25, 1959, in Whitehorse, Yukon, belonging to Northern Tutchone Tribe. He passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 5 am in Rosanne's loving arms. He was 64. His last days were spent at Vancouver General Hospital.

Richard is predeceased by his parents John and Violet, loving brothers and his daughter Nicole Hastings. He is survived by his wife Rosanne, his lovely daughters Violet and Darci and amazing grandchildren Radin and Zary, Emily and Harlee and sisters Carol, Laura and Annie. He has left behind many loving family and friends as well as the gifts of his beautiful art for the world.

Richard spent his youth in the north graduating from the Carcross Community Education Centre before moving to Vancouver in 1979. He will make his last trip home to be laid to rest in Whitehorse.

He will always be loved and missed by anyone who crossed his path.
