A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY

CRUMP, Robert Perry, 79, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2019. He will be missed by his twin Ronnie, older siblings Paul (Carol) and Rosie, his only daughter Brenda (Sylvain), grandson Cody (Kaylena) and great granddaughter Aubrey and many other family members. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maritime Labour Hall, 1880 Triumph St. May 19, 2019 from 2 - 6pm. Robert and his twin brother Ronald were born in Edmonton Alberta in 1939. They became known as the "Crump Twins", joining a family of "naturally" talented entertainers. The family moved to Vancouver in 1943 and spent a number of years in the Strathcona neighborhood, then commonly known as Hogans Alley. Ronnie and Robert were inseparable. Wherever you saw Robert, there was Ronnie and vice versa. Robert attended Strathcona elementary school and Templeton and Britannia High School where his talent in the preforming arts began to blossom. The "Crump Twins" versatility was electric. Not only did both brothers tap dance they also formed a musical duet in which Ronnie played the drums and Robert played the guitar. Their performances did not go unnoticed and in 1955 the twins were featured in the Province newspaper. Their music career grew throughout the 40's 50's and 60's. The twins started working for the Vancouver Waterfront and were there for 45 years but it was in the preforming and entertainment industry that they made their mark. - They have both been nominated to be entered into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and in both the PIONEER and STARWALK categories. The Pioneer category will include their names added to the permanent list of BC entertainment pioneers that is seen inside the Orpheum Theatre. The STARWALK category would mean they would get their “Star” added onto the Granville Street walk of fame. - may they be successful. The warm applause that the Crump Twins got so regularly in the 1940s to 60s filled Roberts mind in his final days as his favorite moments were singing and enjoying the musical guests that preformed at his care facility. Robert once said "you never know when your making memories" - he was right. Rest in peace Robert - you have left a legacy of Music and Mirth for many.... Robert and his twin brother Ronald were born in Edmonton Alberta in 1939. They became known as the "Crump Twins", joining a family of "naturally" talented entertainers.

The family moved to Vancouver in 1943 and spent a number of years in the Strathcona neighborhood, then commonly known as Hogans Alley. Ronnie and Robert were inseparable. Wherever you saw Robert, there was Ronnie and vice versa.
