I want to apologize that I am so late in sending this but just received it on Friday.
Roz and I worked together as Counsellors at Van Tech.  I was there from 1979 to 1983.
Ken was the same age as my son.......both teenagers.
One memory I have that still makes me laugh was Roz was on the phone to the school about Ken's weaving project.   Her office was right across the hall from me and both doors were open.
Roz was apologizing and apologizing about his weaving project not being done.  Once off the phone she came over to see me and I was in fits of laughter.  
"Roz", I said, " it is WEAVING and Ken has no plans to be a weaver plus the teacher (who I knew) is a complete idiot."
Roz saw the humour in the situation and started to laugh.   We shared a number of teenage son's adventures.

I was so very sad to hear of Roz’s passing and want to express my condolences to her remaining family members.

Roz was a dear colleague who was loved and appreciated for her generous, warm-hearted nature. She will not be forgotten.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Roz Atherton and extend my heartfelt condolences to all the loved ones she left behind.

I worked with Roz in the counselling department of Vancouver Technical school from 1986 to 1990.  She was a wonderfully warm human being with a great sense of humour and a tremendous counsellor. A great colleague, she was always  dedicated to helping students , parents and staff- fiercely protective of anyone needing her assistance.

Such an amazing lady, i am very sorry to hear of her passing. As a student at Van Tech from 1994-1998, Mrs.Atherton's office was always a safe place to go for a chat. Always welcoming, always there and always had your back ♡♡♡ Thanks for being there Mrs.A. You will be dearly missed ❤

It is with deep sadness that I learned of Roz's passing today.  Roz was a friend and a longstanding member of our Champlain Ridge community where she lived with her late husband Dave.  I shared several meals with Roz both at the golf club where she and Dave were members for so many years, as well as at the Knight and Day Restaurant.  She was also on Council at Champlain Ridge where she will be remembered for having offered of herself most generously.  

I will remember her for her quick smile, her kind words, and her generosity of spirit.   Rest in peace, Roz.

I am so sorry to hear of Roz's passing and extend my sympathies to her nephew Scott and her niece Adrienne and their families. Roz lived next to me on 34th Avenue for a long time so we were neighbours and good friends as well.    We spent a lot of time together doing many crafts, taking card classes,  and going for lunches and dinners.  Roz was kind, soft spoken, generous, smart, patient and had a friendly calming way about her.   I tried to keep in touch with her when she moved to Champlain, but it seemed to get more difficult for some reason.    It didn't matter though because she was always in my heart and she always will be.  Love you dear Roz - rest in peace. xxoo
