Peacefully and of natural causes our family matriarch and one half of the notorious McCormick twins of the CPR family has caught the last train leaving the station.
Predeceased by her husband Gordon F. Sedawie (1977) and her parents James (1968) and Dorothy
(1989). Mom will be dearly missed and is survived by her children Cheryl (Colin) Port Alberni, Gordon (Audrey) Osoyoos, Sherri (Jeff) Richmond, Norman (Port Alberni) and extra special family member Donna (Dale) Chilliwack. Sheila was the beloved Nana to her 7 grandchildren, Gordie, Kelsie, Andrew, Taylor, Tanner, Lauren and Garret and Two-Nana to 5 ½ great grandchildren. She will be missed by her twin sister Shirley (Surrey) and older sister Barbara (Honolulu).
She is also survived by the extended Hill family and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws scattered around the world.
Born in Revelstoke and raised into the CP Rail family Sheila moved almost annually and eventually graduated high school in North Bend BC.
Sheila met Gordon (Province photographer) while employed at the Vancouver Aquarium. They were soon married and got busy starting the family. Sheila was not your typical homemaker & she returned to work once the children entered school. She worked in a secretarial position in a downtown Vancouver engineering firm for a time, eventually moved on to become a Purchasing Agent, Materials Manager in the hospital industry. She worked for years at Holy Family Hospital, and retired from Queens Park Hospital in the mid 1990’s. While working full-time she continued to coach sports, travel and was always actively involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.
After retirement Sheila moved to the Steveston area of Richmond where she enjoyed many years in her home there, then The Maples Residence and eventually in July 2019 moved to Delta View Care Facility.
Although the train has left the station, Sheila’s family and friends will always hold their memories of her in their hearts. No service is planned at this time.
