Shirley Jean Woods

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley at the age of 87. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Stan Woods in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Karen, son Mark (Tiziana), grandchildren, Chris (Nicole), Matt (Courtney), Gina and James, great-grandchildren, Olive, Vincent and Austin.

Shirley was born in Invermay, Saskatchewan to James and Annie Findlay. She was one of 12 children. After settling in Vancouver and marrying Stan in 1957, she became busy raising her family. When her children were grown, she spent many years assisting Stan with his construction company. She enjoyed curling, skiing, tennis and travelling on cruises and to many family reunions.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Patricia Draves, her brother Allan Findlay and many nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, there will be no service. Inurnment will take place at the Chapel Courtyard, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, BC.
