Dr. Stanley Seg Kin Chang, 87, of Richmond, BC passed away April 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after a long struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Stanley was born October 12, 1932 in Guangzhou, China. He graduated from medical school in Taiwan in 1958, followed by residencies in Honolulu, HI and St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC.
Stanley was a well-respected, long serving family physician who practiced in Richmond from 1971 to 2008.
In his spare time, Stanley enjoyed swimming, gardening and photography. He loved watching hockey games on TV as well as listening to classical music.
Stanley is survived by his wife Miriam of 53 years; daughters Michelle (Christopher Mah), Charmaine (Eric Lam); sister Winnie (Alex) Pang; brother Edwin (Jane) Chang; three granddaughters, Caitlin, Hayley and Beatrice; and many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. Stanley was predeceased by his sister Wai Fong Ma.
Due to the present COVID-19 situation, Stanley’s celebration of life will be held at a later date TBA. Stanley will be laid to rest at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby, BC.
