Sue Chau Ben

Our Family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our loving, caring, and inspirational mother, Sue Chau Ben. She was born in Nancun Village, Panyu District, Guangzhou, China, and passed away at the age of 100 in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday, September 3, 2023, with her beloved family by her side.

Mom was the matriarch of the Panyu people in our Vancouver community. Upon arriving to Canada in 1956, and throughout her life, she displayed benevolence and remained strongly devoted and loyal to her fellow clans people and all family members. She was predeceased by our loving father Yew Ming, and survived by her daughter Janice (Harry), son Randy (Melanie), daughter Sherry, and son Walter (Grace); her grandchildren Gregory (Judy), Stephanie (Gerald), and Tanya (Wayne); and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Hailey, Rylee, Lennox, and Kara.

A funeral service for our mother will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver, British Columbia at 1:30 PM. There will be a Celebration of Life banquet at 3:00 PM.
