I worked with Urmila back when we were both just starting out at the library, and would cross paths with her periodically in subsequent years. She was one of the nicest people I have ever worked with anywhere. She was a kind and generous soul. My condolences to her daughters. She was a gem of a person

Your Mom was such a beautiful and gentle person. We worked together at the library in the 1990's. It was a real pleasure to work with her because she was very kind and was always in a good mood. She will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed!

Thank you everyone. My mom did have two families, work and home. She was the same person all around, treated everyone with respect, quiet, humble, shy, with a zest for life. She was always in a pleasant mood and with us, her home family, she gave everything. She did everything for us, and we are so truly blessed to have had her as our mother. Thank you to everyone who entered her life. When her sickness started to take over, she attempted to send a text to the people she knew which said " thank you everyone" .

Urmila had two families - her relatives and the library staff - and she was beloved by both. She was a truly lovely person and I am so sad to hear of her passing.

Urmila was a beautiful person both inside and out. I had the honour of working with her several times over the years at Mount Pleasant. She was always so warm, giving and caring. Urmila's passing has forever left a hole in the hearts of the many lives that she has touched. My deepest condolences to the family.

I worked with Urmila when my Kensington branch was flooded not once but twice. I found that Urmila very quietly and efficiently incorporated our staff to MPL. I found that she was a hardworking and dedicated employee. What I was more in awe of was her kindness, gentleness and calm manner. She showed me with such pride pictures of her grandkids. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her beauty will live on in you Priya, your sister and the grandkids. 💐💐💐

To Priya and family,
I met Urmila when I began working at Mount Pleasant. She was the gentlest and kindest person with both her coworkers and with the library patrons. What I also remember is the love and pride that shone through when she spoke about her children. I am truly sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you and your family.

Urmila was one of the kindest, soft spoken souls I have ever met, nothing fazed her. I admired working for with her for those qualities, as I strived to emulate that passion.
Her memory will live on through us as a beacon of goodness & love in these ever changing times. My condolences to Priya & family.
