Well, here I am – writing my obituary on Feb 28 - 08. My friend Muriel has asked me to do this. Since I detected a sense of urgency in her voice I had better get started - -
I was born in Vancouver in 1923. Raised by a single mother, Edith Scott - I married my voice teacher’s daughter in 1946 Bea Hicks. We had a devoted marriage and shared a love of music - she died peacefully in 1983. When I married Bea, I gained in the package my dear nieces and nephews. We have walked side by side this long journey, I want you all to know, I think of you with much affection, tho not voiced.
Twelve years ago I met Muriel Harding – she is my best friend – life is warm again.
Finally, when I (you know) and go to dwell amongst the distant stars I rejoice I was able to leave a small legacy the Bea Scott Bursary in Voice at U. Vic. to help young singers with their studies for years to come. Bea would be pleased.
According to my wishes there will be no service.
