On May 17, 2021, Mom passed away peacefully at her home in Vancouver (she hated hospitals) at the age of 87. She was at peace and in no pain for which we are grateful.
She was born on October 17, 1933 in Vancouver to Campbell and Anne Leong and was 1 of 7 children.
She was a hostess at the Westin Bayshore’s trendy Trader Vic’s restaurant where she met many special friends that would last a lifetime. She loved her job meeting the movers and shakers on an international level as well as many famous celebrities.
After retiring in the early 2000’s, she remained very active. She enjoyed playing Mar Jong, going to the race track and loved just getting together with family and friends. She had a special bond with her sister Lorraine. They would arrange to meet with friends at various casinos and would indulge in penny slots and buffet dinners. Mom had a wonderful creative side as well by knitting for nieces and nephews and making decorative Christmas trees out of coat hangers which were very popular and ended up selling as a hobby.
She is predeceased by her son Terry, brother James (Buddy) and sister Lorraine. She is survived by her sons, Carey and Michael, her sister Cecelia (Dolly), brothers Tommy, Gordon (Judy) and Bobby and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
She is at peace now and reunited with our brother Terry. We love you mom and we will be reunited soon
In keeping with Covid restrictions, a private viewing will be held on May 31, 2021 at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel
