Bill Tupper was born in Vancouver to Marjorie (Snider) and Owen Tupper. After graduating from King Edward High School, he became a Certified General Accountant, where his meticulous nature guaranteed his success.
He's remembered with his long columnar pads and pencils, ensuring everything was in balance.
While articling at Boyles Brothers, he travelled the province, enjoying its natural beauty and perilous roads. Bill went on to become the comptroller for the Vancouver School Board and the City of Vancouver.
The wilderness was at Bill's doorstep, and he thrived in the mountains -- skiing, hiking and camping. He taught his children a love of the outdoors, encouraging them to swim, ski and camp. He was a ski jumper, who also performed a very powerful butterfly stroke. He was also a formidable Bridge opponent, thriving on puzzles and competition. Bill excelled at everything he tried.
Bill Tupper lived life on his own terms and, once he knew his infirmities were irreversible, used the same inner strength by choosing it's ending at VGH.
We know that he had a full experience and is now at peace.
