Yew Bun Yee 余耀彬

It is with great sadness that the Yee family announce the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, Yew Bun Yee of Vancouver, BC. He was born on September 8, 1932 and he passed away peacefully after a brief illness on December 25, 2022. Our heartfelt condolences over the Yee family at this time.

Yew Bun Yee was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China and came to Vancouver, B.C. in 1951. During his years in Canada, he lived in Youbou, Victoria, and Vancouver.

He was a gentleman, self-educated with a passion for learning, a great sense of curiosity, humor, and intuition! He was a wonderful chef, and wrote artistically beautiful calligraphy. He held his talents and accomplishments close to his heart with quiet strength and humility! He served his family and community with love, kindness, compassion, and generosity!

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Kin Lan; his children Alice, Amy(Manley), Douglas, and Gordon(Mary); and his grandchildren Michelle, Jessica, Marshall, and Carter.

The family would like to thank his family doctor, and the healthcare teams at MSJ, Parkview/Youville, and VGH for his care. Rest in Peace Yew Bun, Ba, and Gong-gong!

Visitation in held on January 16, 2023 5:00PM at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel. Service next day January 17, 2023 at 9:30AM at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel. Graveside to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 11:45AM. Reception at Golden Swan Restaurant at 2:00pm 5380 Victoria, Dr, Vancouver. Please RSVP with the family.
