

Howard Yuen Toy Jung, of Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital, on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Howard was born on October 10, 1931, in Yin Ping, Guangdong Province, China. Howard immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1949, and worked with his father, Jimmy How Jim Jung, in the family business. “Howie” was employed by the BC Ferries Corporation where he worked for 33 years until retirement as the Chief Cook. Howard was a loving husband and father, adoring grandfather, and a great, loyal friend.
Howard will be remembered for his tremendous work ethic, his dedication to his family and his endearing smile that always lit up a room. He instilled in his children his work ethic and drive to be the best that they can be. Howard will be sorely missed by all.
Howard is survived by his wife of 64 years, May So Tao Jung, his children, Ben (Jen nee Low) , Jenny (Wes Uyeyama) and Leon; his grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Bria Lam Coelho (Ryan), Jeremy (Lauren nee Smoot), and Jared; and his great grandchildren, Rico and Roger Coelho.
A Visitation will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 E. Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Thursday, December 9, 2021 between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
Memorial Services will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 am. Internment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 12:00 pm. A reception will follow
