Bonnie Nell Wilson Huckaby

Bonnie Nell Huckaby born 7 Aug 1949 died 22 Oct 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was a licensed day care provider for many years in Vancouver WA. Bonnie is survived by her husband Kenneth Huckaby, daughters Kate Archer (John), Melody Silk (Rick), son James Huckaby (Angel), all of Vancouver WA, sister Keren Wilson (Michael DeShane) Happy Valley OR, brother Quentin (Janice Birkholz) of Amarillo TX, 7 grandchildren , Amanda, Jesse, Michael, Andrew, Kelley, Brenna, John), 6 great grandchildren (Braydon, Brody, Morgan, Kylah, Riley, Rowan) all of Vancouver WA. A special cousin Delores Lyons and aunt, Darlene Smith of Elizabethton, and sister-in-law Charlotte Malone Wilson of ¬¬¬Mount Laurel NJ, nephews Michael Wallace, Vancouver WA and Sean DeShane, Happy Valley OR, and nieces Laura and Heather Wilson, Hillsboro OR, Dorinda Wallace, Forrest Grove, OR, Donnamarie Marinelli, Doylestown PA, Nicole Wilson of Williamstown NJ, Lisa Wilson of Johnson City TN, and Jocie Buchanan of Amarillo TX also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents Eston and Jessie Richardson Wilson, infant daughter Keren Huckaby, brother Richard Wilson, and sisters Eula Vee Wallace and Donna Sanders.

Bonnie loved white daises and salmon colored gladiolas. Mr. Lincoln roses were also a favorite. She had a soft spot for living things. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Marshall, and cat, Harry. Growing up in the south she loved all manner of southern food, old-time country western music, and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to her doctors and hospital staff whose care was exceptional over the past five years . We also wish to thank her special friends Sue Watson and Betty Shave as well as those who brought treats, visited, and otherwise helped. Services will be 1 Nov Monday 2 pm at Vancouver Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, WA. An open house at the home of granddaughter Amanda Siepak 4709 NE Leverich Place Vancouver WA will follow at 4:30 pm. Graveside services will be held later at the Wilson Cemetery in Elizabethton TN. Remembrances may be made to a favorite charity.
