

Etta was the third child of 15 children born to the Powell family, two brothers before her.
The Powell family moved from Lake Charles, LA when Etta was the age of 8 years old to Ryderwood, WA where several more children were born.
Etta was preceded in death by two sisters; Erlene and Dorothy and six brothers; Buford, Chet, Linberg, Cleve, Paul, and Clifford Powell.
Etta has three living sisters, Ruby Davis (Ron) of Kuna, Idaho, Shirley Hurst (Johm) of Olympia, WA, Beverly Meyers (Fred) of Olympia, WA and two brothers, Fred Powell Jr. (Sharon) of Edmonds, WA and Bill Powell (Lois) of Abeline, TX. She had two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Etta Married Walter Clark Cooper at the age of 15. One son Patrick Lee Cooper was born form that union.
Walter passed away in 1959 at the age of 54; Patrick preceded his mother in death in 1997 at the age of 54.
Etta married Arthur H. Edick May 2, 1969 in Vancouver, WA. Art preceded Etta in death at the age of 85 on July 30, 2008. They were married for 39 years.
Etta’s two favorite songs were “One Day at a Time”, and “This Old House”.
Art and Etta loved to go to Manor Grange in Vancouver, WA and Catlin Grange in Kelso, WA to dance and enjoy music and friends. She and Art had been members and enjoyed family and friends of the Columbia River Old Times Strings and the Columbia Christian Church.
Etta loved her Church and the many friends that she had there. They lived across the street from Pastor Bob Miller and his wife Dee for many years.
Etta still had many friends that she made while working as a cook in several restaurants in the area. She played Bunco and loved going to Lucky Eagle Casino, Spirit Mountain Casino and Red Wind Casino where she made many friends on the bus going to and from. She also met a favorite person in her life named Jason, the bus driver who chauffeured her to the Casino.
