Lou grew up in California, graduating from Salinas High School in 1957. While attending school he met a lovely young lady named, Evelyn Hudson. They became high school sweethearts, marrying on September 22, 1957, just a few months after their graduation.
Lou joined the Army and chose to make a career out of serving his country. He spent 30 years in service, finally retiring July 3, 1985 as a Command Sergeant Major. While in service he received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Army Commendation medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, earned during the Vietnam War. Lou was also a member of the American Legion.
Over the years, Lou, found time for a few hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking and was a master gardener. After retiring, he and Evelyn started a business called “Treasures and Trinkets”, buying and selling antiques and collectibles at swap meets.
