

Lester E. Miller was born in Owen, Wisconsin to Henry and Ella Miller. When Les was one year old his parents moved to Vancouver, Washington where he lived for the rest of his life. Les passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 23, 2013 at the age of 93.
Les Graduated from Vancouver High in 1938, attended Commerce Business College and worked at Washington National Bank until joining the Army Air Corp in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant link trainer instructor until his discharge in 1945. Les then worked at Seattle First National Bank for the next 42 years where he retired as an Assistant Vice President in charge of operations and personnel.
Les married the love of his life, Irene Boydstun, November 8, 1946 and they enjoyed 67 blissful years together. He is survived by his wife Irene, one daughter Lynn McGraw (Michael), one son Brad Miller (Teresa), four grandchildren Scott McGraw (Juliet), Erika McManus (Jon), Grant Miller and Justin Miller. He had two great-grandchildren Josephine McGraw and Brynna McManus. Les was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Beatrice Byers and one brother Henry Miller.
Les was active in the Fort Vancouver Lions Club during his professional years and served as past president, treasurer and was elected lion of the year. He was an avid golfer his entire life and was a member of the Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club. Les loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lester’s patient, kind, gentle nature and his subtle sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Services will be Friday, November 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel with viewing from 9:00-12:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fort Vancouver Lions Club Sight/Hearing Foundation.
