Mr. Lindy Papa A. Albrici

April 7, 1923July 24, 2010

Lindy A. Albrici lived his entire life in Vancouver, Washington where he was born of Italian immigrants, Angelo and Angela Albrici, on April 7th, 1923. He attended Catholic schools in Vancouver and served as an alter boy at St. James Parish. Lindy spent twenty-five years working for the Vancouver Police Department and worked as a building contractor the majority of his life. Lindy had a wonderful work ethic, in that he was always happy when he could please someone by doing a good job for them. Lindy passed from this life July 24th, 2010 from the complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He lived the last year of his life at Highgate Senior Living Center where he was cared for by wonderful caregivers, family, and friends. The family would like to express their thanks for the exceptional care Lindy received while living at Highgate. Lindy is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Katie; his children, Leslie (and Gary) Lentz, Lori Sanchez, Jeff (and Janette) Brummel, Debbie Phares, and Beau Brummel; and his honorary daughter; Sue Wiltsey and family. Lindy, or “Papa”, is also survived by numerous grandchildren, Tara (and David) Adams, Jeremiah Sanchez, Beau Schreiber, Taylor Schreiber, Kayla Brummel, Alyssa Adams, and Grace Adams. A special nephew and his family in Milan, Italy, Adalberto Morzenti, also survive Lindy. His parents; his two brothers, Diletto and Gino; and his sister, Maria, preceded him in death. A memorial service is planned for Friday, August 6th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Salmon Creek United Methodist Church (12217 NE Hwy 99); a reception will follow. The service will be held in the Family Ministry Center; which Lindy helped build. His volunteer church work was one of his proudest accomplishments. Dear Katy and family.
Thinking of you during this difficult time. You and Lindy shared our great friends Walt and Zoe Kern. It was Walt who told us of an amazing builder who might come out of retirement to build our new home in Salmon Creek. Well he did just that along with your help and more adding his own handrubbed woodwook and extra closets anywhere he could make space!.He was a wise and wonderful man with great integrity and will be missed.

Katie and Debbie: Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Lindy around
the day care and church fixing things and teasing the staff and kids in
his gruff but playful manner. I'll be back in Vancouver in Dec. of this year.
Hope to see you. Love, Mickie Mathewson (e-mail is

Caro Zio Lindo,

Riposa in pace. Sicuramente dal cielo continuerai a fare del bene.

Un forte abbraccio alla zia Katie che ha tanto contribuito a farci incontrare e alla tua grande famiglia. Un bacio grande a Leslie.

Dear Katie,

You and Lindy have been important beyond measure to us personally, to the growth and ministries of United Methodist churches in Washington and especially to the Ocean Park U. M. Camp and Retreat Center on the Long Beach Peninsula.

Lindy’s extraordinary contributions were recognized at the U.M. Annual Conference level with the Bishop’s Award a few years back. We imagine that Lindy is reaping heavenly awards right now.

Lindy, Katie, and volunteers they recruited, were camp angels at Ocean Park constructing 3 buildings over the years. Lindy was famous for inviting generous donations from Vancouver area business contacts by telling the heartfelt story of “that poor little youth camp out at the beach” and its needs.

We have valued and cherished you both and your friendship and generosity for the many years we were directors at Ocean Park and the years that followed. Many nights you invited us stay with you while on Camp business in the city. We visited, laughed often and went to the steak house that was Lindy’s favorite in Portland. We have missed those times with Lindy these last years.

We love you, Katie, and will continue to stay in touch. Love and prayers to you and your family.

I've known Nanny and Grandpa since I was 14 years old. There were weekends that I stayed at their house more than mine. As Tara's friend, Katie and Lindy were so kind to me and always made me feel welcome in their home.

I will be forever grateful for your kindness and willingness to include me in your family. Lindy, you will be missed.

To Katie and the family

I was sorry to hear about Lindy passing. Hearing the news, brought back memories of hockey games, Farrels Ice Cream Parlor and three wheeled trucks. Sorry I can not be with you during this time, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
