Millie was born on March 3, 1927 in Hamlet ND on her family’s farm. She was surrounded by 7 siblings remaining close to them throughout her life. She told stories about chasing the piglets into the water and running after them. Growing up during the Great Depression, Millie learned the value of hard work, saving every penny to get ahead. She learned to be strong from her earliest beginnings.
Millie married Hartvin Hermanson and together they welcomed three children: sons Harlan and Maynard and a daughter Diana. They protected their children with blankets walking them to school in the snow. Millie played softball in the yard with her children. The family relocated to Vancouver in 1966. Millie cherished being a homemaker and she made it special for her family.
Millie enjoyed bowling on teams with her husband and fishing for trout in local rivers & lakes. She was a great cook inheriting many recipes from her mother and could grow just about anything she planted.
Millie lived her life with lovely values: a giving nature, a caring heart, & being a great provider. She loved being a grandmother and was a fighter till the end.
Millie is predeceased by her parents and several siblings, her husband Hartvin and son Maynard. Survivors include her son Harlan, daughter Diana, sister Mavis and brother Dean, one granddaughter Kari (Dustin), three great granddaughters Alexis, Aliyah and Adalyn, and many nieces and nephews.
