

Roz Elaine Harris (Dudek) passed away peacefully in her home in Vancouver, WA, on April 25, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born on April 1, 1922 in Olivia, MN, the youngest of five children born to Moravian-Czech immigrant blacksmith Arnost Joseph Dudek and Rose Leonora Polansky. She attended St Aloysius Catholic School and graduated from Olivia High School.
On November 1, 1944 Roz was united in marriage to Rolland Allan Harris in Lincoln NB, raising two sons. After the early death of her husband in 1974, she went back to school obtaining a business degree. She went to work for the Canteen Corp in Portland OR remaining there for her entire 25 year career, retiring at the age of 80 years.
Roz’s heart and faith has touched the lives of so many people. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, cooking, baseball and sunshine.
Roz was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland A Harris; her parents; and her four brothers Aloysius, Richard, Joseph and Ernest Dudek. At the time of her passing she was the oldest surviving Dudek.
Roz is survived by her two sons Scott (Bonnie) and Jim (Tim Washburn), three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous niece and nephew’s. All were very dear to her heart.
Cremation has taken place with a Funeral Mass being held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4723 NW Franklin St, Vancouver WA, followed by a luncheon at the church and graveside committal at 1:00 p.m. at Parkhill Cemetery, 5915 E Mill Plain Blvd in Vancouver.
