

Sandra Louise Rex, 61, of Vancouver, WA, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. Sandra was born in Ft. Wayne, IN to Raymond W. and Kathryne J Heine. The family moved to So. Calif. when she was three years of age, and she continued to call Whittier home until her enlistment into the U.S. Navy in 1967. After completion of basic training, Sandra was stationed in Washington, D.C., where she met and married her husband Dale E. Rex, who was also a member of the U.S. Navy.
After a brief stay in So. Calif., they moved to the Vancouver area in 1976. Sandra was employed by OMEGA INDUSTRIES of Vancouver, WA, as an Accounting Manager.
She was a retired member of the Oregon Air National Guard, serving her entire enlistment as a Combat Communications Specialist of the 244th Combat Communications Squadron, and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1996.
Sandra was an avid Quilter, and thoroughly enjoyed her association with several Quilt Clubs around the area, especially with “The Gang” of NORTHSTAR QUILTERS.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dale, of Vancouver, and a younger brother Richard Paul Heine of Whittier, CA.
Sandra will be sorely missed by all who knew her, and FOREVER LOVED by her family.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, May 22nd at 12:00 Noon, at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St, Vancouver, WA.
