Terry was a Musician: Accordion- Keyboardist, and Saxophone player, owner of his live-music dance-band, “Terry and the Pyrats,” a Journeyman Herbalist and owner of his retail store, “Terry’s Herb Shop.”
He was a Notary Public, Industrial Forklift driver for Waterway Terminals, and Maintenance Repair man for Century 21-Real Estate. He later became a Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist.
Terry also served in the (USMC) United States Marine Corps in 1960, His Military occupation specialty was Bandsman, playing the accordion, saxophone, and singing tenor. He was staff club Cortet and member of the Officer’s Club. He Ranked Lance Corporal and served during Peace and Post Korean War. He was an expert in 45, Pistol, and Rifle marksman 2 times, and received Notable Unit Citation twice in Japan. He was Honorably discharged in 1964.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Brothers, Elks, Eagles, and Moose Lodges. Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US. United States Department of Veteran Affairs, American Legion, and a member of the USMC Retired, Republic Presidential 2020 Task Force.
Terrence (Terry) is preceded in death by brother Timothy Vetter, wife, Ruthann (Peewee) Vetter, foster daughter, Patricia Ann Quitoriano-Catabay, and two sons: Corey Andrew Mulkey-Vetter and Mario Martin Vetter.
He is survived by brother, Tom Vetter SR of Bend, Oregon. Daughter, Christyl A. Beck of Vancouver, Washington. Ten Grandchildren: Warren Goodson, Jennifer Garcia, Lisa Anguiano, Britany Martin, Erin Ciarlante, Matthew S. Mickelson-Beck, Theresa Mickelson, and Anthony (Tony) Pheul, all of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington; And Mario Vetter JR, and Dayton Vetter of Seaside, Oregon; And thirteen Great-Grandchildren: Cristian Anguiano, Gabriella Anguiano, Luis Anguiano, Lorenzo Anguiano, Kaden Gullikson, Rueben Garcia JR, Gabriel Garcia, Michael Rodriquez-Turner, Ariyah Garcia, Giovanni Anguiano, Wesley Young, Evangeline Mickelson, all of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington and River Maze Vetter of Seaside, Oregon.
Funeral Services and Reception held Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 1:00pm. The Matson Prayer House, 10713 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, Washington. Interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon where he will join wife, Ruthann.
Contributions may be made to family member and daughter, Christyl Beck, in lieu of flowers.
