William H Bartel

William (Bill) Bartel was born September 29, 1919 in Ridgefield, WA and died July 13, 2011 at home. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years Bernice, their 3 children Linda (Dave) Hoffman, Larry (Susan) Bartel, and Pete (Eileen) Bartel, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren

Bill spent his life farming and designing and erecting steel buildings. His greatest passion was his time spent volunteering for Clark County Fire District 12 where he served in all positions from firefighter to Chief.

A Memorial Celebration will be held in the hall at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ridgefield at 2PM on Thursday July 21.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the OHSU Foundation in support of macular degeneration research.
