Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Maria Lubrano and Vincenzo Intartaglia, Antoinette was the first American-born member of her family, whose roots were in Procida, Italy. She lost both parents at a young age, which made her independent early. Before turning 26, she traveled to Italy several times and worked as a secretary for the Rockefeller family.
In 1963, her cousin introduced her to Joseph Cappello. They were engaged six months later and married on July 4, 1964, and she always remembered the fireworks lighting the sky as they left their reception. Together they welcomed three children: Sam, Maria, and Joann.
In 1979 the family moved to Florida's west coast, settling in Punta Gorda. Florida. It was here that the family had countless adventures and drew even closer together.
Antoinette found lifelong friendship when she joined the Florida Corvette Racing Club, where she was also Treasurer for multiple years. It was the friendships she made here where she found great comfort upon Joe’s death.
Antoinette showered her seven grandchildren with love through babysitting, trips to Disney, school functions, and family vacations. She was the grandmother every child wished for.
Antoinette will be remembered for her love of family, works of charity, and the friendships she’s forged during her life.
She is survived by her children, Sam (Tracey), Maria (Jim), and Joann (Matthew); her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Sherman), Alex, Victoria (Kevin), Zoe, Simon (Allie), Joseph (Carla), and Mario; her brothers-in-law, Frank (Cathy) and Christopher (Doreen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
