

Christine Dennis Boatman was born on June 30, 1934, in Carthage, Tennessee, to her parents Meade and Crockett Dennis. Christine was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean Herbold, also from Carthage, TN. She lived primarily in Rotonda West, FL,
beginning 2005 and has thoroughly enjoyed the Sunshine State for many happy years. Christine passed from this life on Saturday morning, June 13, peacefully, after a long battle with her health. Her 92nd birthday would have been celebrated on June 30, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne D Boatman, who lived with Christine for many years in Cookeville, Tennessee, prior to their move to Florida. Together, they always dreamed of living in Florida after visiting Florida many times over the years.
Christine attended school in Carthage, TN, and graduated from that Smith County High School. Some years after rearing her children, she began a career as businesswoman in Cookeville, Tennessee, by opening a lady’s shoe store, a bridal store, and a popular family
restaurant near the Tennessee Tech campus. Christine was well known in the community through her interactions with so many college students at Tech and many families in the Cookeville area. She was very skillful in managing her stores and her wedding planner business, which allowed her and her husband to travel extensively around the world.
Christine is survived by her two daughters, Sherrie Boatman Roberts (Larry) of Chattanooga, TN and Kimberly Stern (Michael) of Sarasota, FL; Grandson - Alex Roberts of Charlotte, TN; Brother - Ray Dennis (Lenore) of Murfreesboro, TN; Sisters in Carthage area
- Margaret and Paulette; Nephews and Nieces - Kevin Dennis (Betty) of Port Charlotte, FL. The following family members reside in Tennessee - Norita Kowelski (Ed) Brentwood, Earron Dennis (Janet), Regina Beahm, Evette Reed, Melissa Skelton, Stacy Davenport, Chris Sparks (Sammie), Larry Sparks (Teresa), Kelly Ann Davenport, Doyle Hill (Tracey), Tiffany Boatman, and Stephanie Boatman.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kays-Ponger, Uselton and Lemon Bay Funeral Homes in Venice, FL who will be placing Christine near to her husband.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
