David Emerson Harris passed away at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1933 to Georgia (Hess) and Emerson W. Harris in Indianapolis, Indiana. David served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 in Germany. He graduated from Manuel Tech High School in 1959, and from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1961. He and his wife Carole served in the Peace Corp in the Dominican Republic. He then worked for Jewel Tea Company and for KPK Accounting Firm as a CPA. He married Carole Scholz in 1958. She died in 1985. He then married Donna Stogsdill in 2017 and retired to Rotonda West, Florida. He leaves behind, his wife Donna, sister Janet Wilson of Lafayette, IN and a niece Kristi, nephews Gary, Mark and Stephen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol and a step-son Jason Stogsdill. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on August 4, 2026, 10AM at Washington Park North Cemetery on Kessler Blvd in Indianapolis, IN
