Diana was born and raised in Auburn, New York, the daughter of Herman and Stella Suborski. She later made her home in Englewood, Florida, where she embraced the Florida lifestyle and discovered a love of shelling.
Diana was creative throughout her life and always seemed to have a project in her hands. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed many different crafts over the years. After moving to Florida, shelling became another of her passions. She loved searching the beaches for shells and transforming her finds into beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations. She was also a member of the Englewood Shell Club, where she shared her interest with others.
Diana also had an incredible green thumb and surrounded herself with beautiful plants. She had a special talent for bringing even struggling plants back to life, and family members knew that if a plant wasn’t doing well, Diana could often work her magic and have it thriving again.
Above all, Diana loved spending time with her family. She and Ed also shared a special love for their grand-dog, Daisy Mae. They would sometimes pick Daisy Mae up just to take her out to lunch—a trip through the McDonald’s drive-thru for a Happy Meal followed by lunch together at the park. It was one of the many simple pleasures that brought Diana joy.
Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin R. Ellis.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Joelle Tessier (Dan), Jill Mahaney (Ed), and Jackie Cser (Larry); her grandchildren, TJ Nesbitt (Ashley), Nicholas Nesbitt (Christina), Amber Nesbitt (Larry), Michelle Cser, Ryan Mahaney, and Matthew Quinn (Heidi); and her great-grandchildren, Charleigh Nesbitt, Elizabeth Quinn, Caroline Smith, and Anthony Smith.
She will be remembered with love and deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
