Dolores Calabro

January 5, 1935May 18, 2020

Dolores DelRio Calabro was born on January 5th, 1935 in New York. She passed away peacefully on May 18, 2020 in the comfort of her home in North Port, Florida, surrounded by her loving family and many prayers. Dolores had 85 amazing years that she spent loving and caring deeply for her family. She spent 64 years with her childhood love, Frank Calabro (deceased) enjoying life and building a legacy. Dolores and Frank have four surviving children: Joseph Calabro, Frank (Melodie) Calabro, Palma Calabro (Gary) Lee and Dean (Becky) Calabro, who brought six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren into their lives. She comes from a very large family with many nieces and nephews, and has one surviving sister: Madeline DelRio Marron. Dolores (Nan) and Frank (Pop) were the first to move to Florida, her family followed one by one over the years, giving her so many great years of laughter and Sunday dinners together. She made sure to feed the family an impressive amount of biscotti, home made chocolate cake and the never ending coffeepot. It wasn't unusual to see an intense canasta game at the kitchen table, usually ending with Pop hiding some wild cards and Nan shouting "who's deck is that?". Dolores will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her husband and family, the way she made her home warm and welcoming to everyone, and hosting countless family parties that included enough leftovers for everyone to have second dinner after the canasta game was through because her parties would last the entire day. This beautiful women touched so many lives, and her memory will live on through all of them, because Dolores was truly unforgettable. We love you Nan. Dolores and Frank are now reunited, enjoying time together again and dancing in the stars.
